1 Reaction score 0 Location 31322 I have been trying to clear that theft mode 4 days now. Tried all the posted fixes none worked. I remembered that it happened once before and I put the charger on after disconnecting the battery for an hour and the Expedition started. Even though the battery shows 85% it fix my problem. Theft Light Flashes When Driving. I have a 2001 F150 4.2 V6. Three days ago, I noticed the Theft light blinking while driving. At first, there was no issues with performance, although the blinking was most noticeable just as I tapped the accelerator at cruising speed. I thought it may help to temporarily disconnect the battery, which I did.

The light should go off after 3 seconds. But it keeps blinking. I disconnected the (-)ive battery terminal. Still blinks. By the way, key programming was successful and the new key starts motor.
